Files & folders
Destinations, naming, finishing actions, and transfers that stall.
New files go to the destination you choose in Settings → Downloads. Turn on “Automatically sort downloads” and each file lands in a matching folder (Video, Audio, Documents, Archives, Images, or Programs), with anything unrecognised in Others. Turn it off and everything stays flat in that one folder.
You choose this in Settings → Downloads → After download. By default the file is simply left where it is. The same panel decides what happens when a file of that name already exists: ask you, save both, or overwrite.
Once the download finishes, open the item’s More actions menu and choose Rename…. The file on disk is renamed to match. Renaming is only available after completion, so a name cannot change mid-transfer.
Yes. Settings → Network → Limit download speed, with a unit you choose. Handy on a shared or metered connection. To change how hard Duvrin works overall, use Parallel connections and Downloads at once in Settings → Downloads.
Choose Download Later on an item, pick a start time, and confirm with Schedule. A schedule will not wake a sleeping or shut-down Mac, so keep the Mac awake and Duvrin running for the scheduled time.
Removing an item clears it from your list; the saved file stays on disk. When you delete a finished download you are offered the choice to delete the file too, so nothing is thrown away on your behalf.
A file can legitimately sit near 100% while its finishing step runs, so give it a moment before worrying. If the progress does not move, check the destination is connected and has room, read the item’s message, then try pausing and resuming once. Never delete the item or its partial files to “unstick” it. That throws away the work so far.
