Getting unstuck

Troubleshoot Duvrin

Start with the symptom that matches what you see. Try the suggested check once, then use the result to decide the next step.

The browser says Duvrin is offline

  1. Open Duvrin from Applications and keep it running.
  2. Check that the companion is enabled in the browser profile you are using.
  3. In Duvrin, open Settings → Extensions and finish any setup or update steps.
  4. Reopen the companion and reload the page you want to download from.

What to look for: the companion can connect and a supported download reaches the app. The popup message describes the connection to the app on your Mac; it is not, by itself, proof that a licensing website is down.

If it still fails, send support your browser name and version, the Duvrin version, and the exact popup message. Never send connection codes.

Duvrin detects no media, or the quality I want is missing

Reload the original page after installing or updating the companion. If a site only exposes media once playback starts, start the intended item and check again. Make sure the detected item belongs to the player you meant to save.

Detection depends on what the site exposes and what the release supports. Duvrin cannot promise every player, quality, live stream, or protected source, and a missing option does not necessarily mean the companion is disconnected.

If the same public example fails repeatedly, send its ordinary page address and the missing option. Do not share signed media links, cookies, or private account pages.

“This page or link cannot be downloaded”

The address may point to a web page rather than a supported file or media source. Try the site’s actual file-download action, or a media item detected by the companion.

Download Current Page cannot turn any arbitrary page into a downloadable video.

If a direct file link works in your browser but not in Duvrin, report the file type and the exact error using a non-sensitive example.

“The website refused this download”

Open the original page and check whether the content is still available to you. If the site provides a fresh download action, use that action once and review the result in Duvrin.

A refusal does not tell us whether the address expired, the source changed, permission is missing, or the website rejected the request for another reason. Do not retry repeatedly, and do not assume changing browser permissions will fix it.

If it continues, send support the ordinary page address, the time of the failure, and the error text. Keep request headers and private addresses out of the message.

A download is stuck near the end

This is often not a fault at all. A file can sit near 100% while its finishing step runs, and some media genuinely takes a while to complete there. Give it a moment and watch whether the item state changes.

  1. Check the destination. Confirm the drive is connected and writable, and that it has room for the file plus temporary processing space.
  2. Read the item’s message. It usually names the reason, which saves you guessing.
  3. Pause the item, then resume it once. This keeps the bytes already received and is a safe check.
  4. Give it another minute. If the same point does not move, the source has most likely stopped serving the file.

Do not delete the item or its partial files to “unstick” it. They are the only copy of the work so far. If progress has stopped at the same place across attempts, send support the ordinary page address, the point where it stalls, and the item’s message. None of that includes anything private from your browser.

A paused download will not resume

Check your connection and make sure the destination is still available, then try resuming the existing item once. Read any error before creating a replacement download.

Some sources stop accepting older links or partial-file requests. Preserve the existing item and its partial files while asking for help if the progress matters to you. Do not cancel or delete it as a routine resume fix, and never edit Duvrin’s database or partial files to force a resume.

When reporting this, include whether it was paused manually, how long it was paused, whether the Mac slept or restarted, and whether the displayed progress changed.

A file cannot be saved, or disk space is low

Check the destination shown for the item. If it is on an external drive, confirm the drive is connected and writable. Choose an accessible folder for a new test and leave room for temporary media-processing files as well as the final download.

Use macOS’s normal file and folder permission prompts where appropriate. Do not grant broad, unrelated permissions as a default troubleshooting step.

If it continues, report the destination type (such as Downloads or an external drive) and the available space. Your full private folder path is usually unnecessary.

The item is complete, but I cannot find the file

Use the item’s Finder reveal action and check the destination selected when the download started. Check whether you moved, renamed, or removed the file afterwards.

A progress percentage alone does not prove the final file was produced. If the expected file is absent or will not open, report the item state, the file type, and what Finder shows.

My activation or verification email is missing

Check the purchase email address, then Spam and Junk. The payment receipt and the Duvrin activation email are separate messages. For a verification request, use the latest unexpired code from the flow you are completing.

Do not purchase again. See activate or renew, or contact support with the purchase email and order reference, keeping the codes private.

I paid for a renewal, but the dates have not changed

  1. Open Registration.
  2. Choose Enter a different code if your current details are already shown.
  3. Enter your purchase email and the new activation code, then choose Validate.
  4. Check the updated dates in Registration.

Payment alone does not update a running installation. If validation succeeds but the dates are still unexpected, contact support with the new order reference and the dates you see. Do not buy another renewal to correct it.

Duvrin asks me to reconnect or verify access

Paid installations refresh a device-bound permission that lasts at most seven days and, for Annual, no later than its access deadline. Connect to the internet and retry the requested validation. Read the message and the plan dates rather than assuming the license has permanently expired.

If a licensing service is temporarily unavailable, do not reinstall repeatedly or buy another license. Existing access depends on the permission already issued to your Mac and its deadline.

See recover access and manage your Macs for code recovery and device management.
